On the 22nd of February 2011 a devastating 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit my new home city of Christchurch, New Zealand, destroying much of the city and claiming 181 lives.
Christ Church Cathedral, the heart of Christchurch, suffered major damage; the spire collapsed along with large sections of the roof and the pillars supporting the cathedral were also severely damaged. Miraculously, no lives were lost in the cathedral itself.

I intend to use proceeds from the sale of this pattern to donate towards the rebuild of the cathedral and the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
