Christening Gown Set For A 12" Porcelain Jesus
Materials Used:
Bernat Baby Sport 100% Acrylic light weight (“3”) yarn, about 300-350 yards, color White
4 mm hook
Stitch marker
Measuring tape
8- ⅜” white buttons
Yarn needle (for weaving in yarn ends)
Scissors
Gauge:
5 sc and 5 rows of sc= 1”
Finished Measurements:
Gown all measurements are of the buttoned closed garment.
The sleeve length was made to cover the hand to the fingertips.
The gown itself was made to be go a few inches past the feet.
The photos show the sleeves and bottom hem of the gown rolled up.
Length (collar trim to bottom trim)- 12”
Bottom Hem Circumference (closed/buttoned)- 16”
Chest Circumference (closed/buttoned) at Row 10 (before x-st pattern begins)- 10”
Collar Circumference (closed/buttoned)- 7”
Sleeve length from the top of the shoulder to the trim around the wrist- 6”
Sleeve circumference- 4”
Bonnet
10” around face (cheek to brow to cheek)
10” around neckline (cheek to base of neck to cheek)
8” from brow to over the crown of the head to the base of the neck
4” from neckline to the center top of the head
9” long chain ties on either side of bonnet
Booties are not my original pattern, but these are the measurements the pattern I followed made: (a link to the pattern used is in this publication!)
Ankle circumference- 5¼”
Bootie height (ankle trim to base of foot)- 2¾”
Foot Length- 2¼”
Foot Width- 1¼”
