Christkind
by Vanora Hagen
Christkind (aka Christ-child) is the gift-giver on Christmas Eve is several European countries and is frequently depicted as barefooted young child with curling hair and a long tunic. You don’t need many colors to create this doll and only scraps of yarn (or embroidery floss) to embroider his face. At 14.5 inches tall, he does need a good bit of stuffing and a yarn needle to stitch his hair to his head and his head to his body; otherwise, you just need to a tapestry needle to stitch his facial features.
