Christmas for us was a magical time, the smells of pudding steaming in the oven.gingerbread, and the tree. Our parents tried to make it wonderful, for me it was the peppermint sticks on the tree that I would take from the back and hope nobody noticed.
This shawl represents the best a child can have,love. The first band of lace is peppermint sticks in memory of all the one I nicked from the tree. The second band of lace is hearts,they
represent the fact that our home was overflowing with love. The third band is trees,large and small, we would have the large family tree then each of us would have a small tree in our room.There are no beads on these as we did not have light
on the trees in out rooms. The remainder of the shawl is icicles. How I loved them as a child. So I give to you Christmas and Memories
of love.
