This is the second in a series of six linked patterns, published gradually in December 2023 for a small knitted wreath. The pattern for covering the wreath is available separately and the six patterns for decorations will be published on alternate days at the start of December.

Despite the theme of this wreath being festive food and drink, this first set of decorations is neither. I do think that a string of fairy lights add considerably to the Christmas cheer though (as well as providing a splash of colour to set off the other knitted decorations).

I knitted a string of 15 fairy lights to go on my wreath, using five different bright colours. You could also use this pattern to knit little strings of lights to use as decorations on their own. Each light is about 4.5 cm / 1¾“ long.
