Christmas Cookies
Materials:
• Worsted weight yarn in shades of brown, white, dark
red. This is a great project to use up partial balls of Red
Heart Super Saver and similar budget acrylics.
• Yarn scraps for embroidery in red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, and brown
• Acrylic paint in white and cinnamon brown
• Large adhesive shipping label
• Stiff paint brush
• Scissors
• Small amount polyfill
• Crochet hook for firm gauge with desired yarn, I used
2.55mm
• Tapestry needle sized to yarn
• Xacto blade
• Cutting board
Required Techniques:
Magic ring
Sl st - slip stitch
Sc - single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Dc - double crochet
Tc - treble crochet
Inc - single crochet increase
Hdc inc - increase in half double crochet
Dec - decrease in single crochet
Running stitch
Chain stitch embroidery
Gauge:
My finished cookies are between 2 inches
and 2.25 inches in diameter with heavy
worsted weight yarn and a 2.55mm hook.
What matters is that you are able to get a
tight, firm gauge with your choice of yarn
and hook.
