Christmas Elf
The Christmas Elf has been a popular tradition for many, many years. My late mother-in-law had quite a collection of these little fellows from the 1950s, and Christmas decorating was not complete until they sat upon her mantlepiece. If you’d like a quick, fun knit, try my pattern. This little Christmas Elf hugs his knees, as many of the traditional elves do … He’s knitted in the round, then felted in the washing machine. Simple embroidery stitches bring him to life! His arms and legs are I-cord, so they’re finished in a snap. Don’t forget the bell on his hat! The 8-piece pattern gives directions for knitting, felting and finishing. As always, if you run into any bumps or trouble spots, please email me.
