Worsted Weight (#4) 100% acrylic

Amount of yarn needed:
You will need approximately 155 yds (142 m) to 280 yds (256 m) total, depending on the size you’re making.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
4 mm (US G) hook or other size to achieve gauge
Stitch Marker (optional)
Faux fur Pompom or a pompom maker (optional)
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Flexible measuring tape.

Gauge:
You will need to crochet a gauge swatch to ensure your hat fits appropriately. Gauge details are included in the pattern.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: Easy.
I’m rating this Christmas hat pattern as easy because it takes only basic stitches, but it’s not suitable for absolute beginners.

You’ll need to know how to read patterns in US terms and these skills without needing a tutorial: chain, half double crochet, front post and back post half double crochet, half double crochet invisible decrease, fasten off, color change. I DO NOT OFFER A VIDEO TUTORIAL FOR THIS PATTERN, but I have added a link for a video showing how to do a hdc invisible decrease.
