Crochet an adorable elf or two for Christmas! The elves are inspired by Norwegian Nisse that creep out at night to play tricks on unsuspecting humans around Christmas time. For extra fuzzy traditional goodness, the clothes are crocheted in wool and felted.

This is a crochet pattern and not the finished item. The pattern has two variations, a boy and a girl elf. It is written in English language in American (US) crochet terms and is Intermediate level. There are a couple of potentially tricky techniques such as surface crochet and felting, but alternative methods are suggested if you’d rather avoid them.

• 3.5mm crochet hook (E-4)
• 5mm crochet hook (H-8)

• 2 buttons (girl only)

you need twice this amount for both elves.
I have suggested Garnstudio yarns because they are great quality, good value and available worldwide, but similar worsted weight yarns can be substituted.
