The Christmas Gift Hat is a fun, festive, novelty hat to add that bit of extra joy to gift giving this year. A reminder that you are a gift?

Skills used
You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches, how to work in rows and rounds and make simple increases. There is some simple sewing involved.
The pattern uses the star stitch for the body of the hat (to emulate pretty festive wrapping paper). A description of the star stitch is included in the pattern as well as a link to a full video and photo tutorial.

Materials
The hat is made using double knit yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. You’ll need around 40g-100g of the main colour, depending on what size you choose, and 15-25g of the contrast colour for the bow and ‘ribbon’. Approximate yarn by size is detailed within the pattern.

Sizing
The hat instructions are written in 4 sizes from up to child, to large adult.
The bow is written in one size and measures around 20cm in width. Guidance is given in the pattern for adjusting the size of the bow if required.
