Skill Level: Easy
Size: The pattern creates a jar cover that is approx. 5” wide (when folded) and 4” high from the bottom. It is designed to fit a pint-size (16 oz / 2 cup) Mason jar that is 10” around, 4.75” high, 3.25” wide across the top and 2.75” wide across the bottom.
Yarn: Any size 4 (medium) yarn for the body and size 5 (bulky) yarn for the top. For the body, I used Impeccable by Loops & Threads. This yarn is size 4 (medium) weight and 100% acrylic. A skein is 285 yds / 260 m and 4.5 oz / 127.5 g. I used approx. 30 yds of “Cherry” (red), 5 yds of “Sunny Day” (gold/yellow) and 15 yds of “Black.” For the top, I used approx. 15 yds of Bernat Pipsqueak in “Whitey White.” This yarn is size 5 (bulky) weight. A skein is 101 yds / 92 m and 3.50 oz. / 100 g.
Crochet Hook Size: I/9 (5.50 mm) for the bottom and the body and a G/6 (4.25 mm) for the belt buckle.
Other Materials: Yarn needle, scissors and a measuring tape.
Terminology: This pattern is written in English for right-handed crochet using standard US crochet terminology.
