I found a number of Christmas light patterns, some free, some paid, but didn’t find one that exactly appealed to me construction wise.

I wanted the lights to be done in the round, so no seaming. I wanted to use Emily Ocker’s cast on (which magically closes up to a nice tight end with no hole). I wanted the increases and decreases to only be on the sides and not be spread all across the bulb. So, this is the pattern I came up with for my use and I thought I’d share.

This is a quick little project that will give you a chance to practice some neat skills you can then use elsewhere in your knitting such as Magic Loop, Emily Ocker’s cast on, and iCord. I haven’t put detailed directions on each technique but have put some links to videos for some and of course there are many, many online sources for the information.
