Christmas Mosaic Square - Rudolph Reindeer
This pattern is for an overlay mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.
Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.
This pattern uses 4 different colors of yarn - blue for the background rows, and yellow & brown for the design rows, and then red is used after the square is complete to add the French knot nose and a collar that’s separately stitched & tacked on. You can add mini jingle bells on top, as in the picture, or do French knots instead.
This is a great way to use up scraps! For a worsted or aran (wt 4) type of yarn, you will need approximately 1.5-2 oz of blue, and around 1-1.5 oz of brown & gold for the square, and then some red scrap yarn for the nose & collar.
Pattern is in US crochet terms.
