This Christmas Ornament Doily is designed to evoke the opulence of Victorian hand-blown glass ornaments. Every ornament motif uses three shades and has gold beads crocheted in, to make them look as luxurious as possible.

The motifs are worked separately, and then joined together sequentially to make the doily. Then, the border is worked around the entire piece.

In all, the doily uses size 10 crochet thread in 18 colors, plus white.
• 10 yds in each of six light colors (red, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, and purple)
• 18 yds in each of six medium colors (red, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, and purple)
• 29 yds in each of six dark colors (red, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, and purple)
• 500 yds white
134 gold beads

I have included the yardage for each ornament motif in the pattern, so you could use even more variety if you want.
