For this hat I casted on 88 stitches on size 8 needles and joined in the round. I used long tail cast on but you could use cable cast on as well if that’s the method you prefer. When I make this again I think I will try casting on 78 stitches on size 8 needles (small head problems).

I have kind of a small head and this fits well but may want to make it with fewer stitches or size 7.

I used half a skein for my MC and and maybe about 3- 4 yards for the SC.
