• needle with blunt tip
• common sewing thread and needle
• tiny black mushroom buttons average 6 mm
• craft buttons by Dress it up average 15 – 30 mm
• a small amount of toy filling
• jingle bell average 9 mm

I used this yarn:
Catania Solids by Schachenmayr SMC, 100% purse mercerized cotton
Yarn weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi),
Yardage: 136 yards (124 meters)
Unit weight: 50 grams (1.76 ounces)
Gauge: 26.0 sts = 4 inches

Suggested yarn for the bill: some pompoms yarn e.g. Spark a Doodle by Red Heart. I used pompom yarn named Alfa (color 67) by vlnika

You will use only basic stitches, but the shaping of the tree needs some practice. You should know, how to crochet: Chain (CH), Slip stitch (SlSt), Single crochet (SC), Double crochet (DC), Increasing (inc): 2 stitches in the same stitch, Decreasing (dec): crochet 2 stitches together
