Christmas Owl Hat
This hat was made using Bernat Blanket Yarn and a K hook … the F hook and Bernat Cotton Thread are used for the Ear Tufts, along with bells.
I wanted something VERY WARM for the winter, this is why I chose the Blanket Yarn. However, the hat can be made of any yarn you desire, as long as you use the appropriate hook. However, you will still need to use the F hook and Bernat Cotton Thread for the Ear Tufts.
To add some fun for the Christmas season, I made “ear tufts” out of the Bernat Cotton Thread and attached 4 bells to each tuft.
This hat can be made with or without the ear flaps.
For the hat shown, which has a circumference of 18” for a toddler, I used about 1/2 of a skein of the Cranberry and Pine Bough Blanket Yarn and very little of the white.
The black for the eyelashes was a scrap. Same as the Cotton Thread.
