Penguins were my son’s beloved animals when he was a toddler. He still loves them. So when he asked me to make one for him this Christmas I had to come up with a pattern. That’s the reason why I named this little one “Christmas penguin”

To make this penguin you need to know:
Magic ring
Chain: ch
Single crochet: sc
Half double crochet: hdc
Double crochet: dc
Treble crochet: tc
Slip stitch: ss
sc2tog: sc decrease
Color change
Crochet in back loops

It is designed for any gauge.
With the yarn and the hook I used (3.5mm) the size of the finished penguin is about 8 cm (3.2”) but it can be crocheted with any yarn and a hook slightly smaller than the recommended.

There is no sewing in this pattern. It is crocheted in the round, top down and all the smaller parts are attached on the body only by fastening on the wrong side.

It can make a cute small gift for Christmas.
Also if you attach a thread on the top you can hang it on your Christmas tree.
Anyway he is a guaranteed cuteness :-)
