Pickle ornaments have roots to 19th century America, as well as German cultural influence.. a nice crocheted tribute to a traditional decoration! The pattern doesnt require a lot of yarn (less than 25g of a DK or a 3 to 4 weight)`, and it makes a cute ornament too!
