Christmas Pudding Shorties
Sweet little treats for your feet!
Watching my mum make the Christmas pudding every year is one of my favourite holiday memories. Relive the fun with Christmas Pudding Shorties: perfect for holiday parties, dressing up, stocking stuffers, and holiday gifts!
These are toe-up, ankle socks with gussets and a traditional slipped stitch flap heel. They have an inside ribbed cuff that helps them sit snugly and comfortably on your ankles. The “pudding” outer cuff is simple stranded colourwork and the holly leaves and berries are knitted separately, in pairs to minimize finishing, then attached to the front of the socks.
The pattern is written for the magic loop method – if you haven’t tried this style of knitting in the round before, this pattern is a great introduction!

SKILLS NEEDED:
Techniques include knit, purl, increases and decreases, working in the round, casting on and starting a toe up sock, stranded colourwork (because of the high contrast between colours on the cuff, the Ladderback Jacquard technique is strongly recommended for managing long floats; if you haven’t tried this technique before, this is a perfect opportunity to try it out on a small project!), binding off.
