Christmas Star Mini Tree Topper
Free pattern. Uses scrap amount of yarn. About the amount you need for a granny square. Project time is about 30 mins to 1 hour.
This star is used to top miniature table xmas trees. The double sided design makes a little pocket in the middle between 2 stars so that you sit it on the top of the tree. No attaching the star required. Your tree will look pretty from 360 degrees because you will have no blank back side. It’s pretty important to follow the steps in the last round leaving 2 points unattached and then separate them and edge around the opening in a circular fashion as described. That produces the pocket where you put the tip of your tree inside to “top” your tree. Hope that clears up any confusion! :D
The tree I used is a crochet tree about 16” high. You can find the xmas tree pattern in Ravelry by the designer Nancy. This star could also be used for those 16-20” trees you get for offices and desks.
Pattern is new and is my first published pattern so let me know if I’ve goofed it up or you have questions. I’ll try to answer when I can but I’m not on Ravelry every day. Gonna try to be checking in until the xmas holiday arrives in case there are questions.
Happy Holly Days!
