Christmas sweater (12 days of Xmas)
Pattern notes
The sweater is worked top down with German short rows to form the neckline. The yoke is worked with round yoke increases and stranded colour work. You can use only 4 colours or you can play around with little skeins or leftovers and as much as you like. I advise to make 4 groups, CC1-4, to make it easier for choosing the right colour and the right amount for each. After the yoke the sleeves are set aside. The body will be worked in the round in stranded colourwork and stockinette stitch without waist or hip shaping. After the body is finished you work the sleeves in the round.
Gauge: 25sts and 34 rows to 10 cm/ 4 inch over stockinette worked flat on 3.25 mm/ US 3 needles or the needle that gives the right gauge.
Yarn:
For the colorwork you need at least 4 colors fingering weight yarn:
CC1: 70-140 gr
CC2: 50-100 gr
CC3: 70-140 gr
CC4: 70-140 gr
fingering weight yarn 400m/100gr.
For MC fingering weight yarn 2 (2, 2, 2)(2, 2, 3)(3, 3, 3) x100g skeins fingering weight 400 m/ 100g or 600 (650, 700, 800)(850, 900, 1000)(1050, 1100, 1150) m/ 656 (710, 765, 874)(929, 984, 1093)(1148, 1202, 1257) yds.
I used 4 color groups, 3 or 4 different yarns in the same color tone.
(Sample Yarn: CC1-4 Wol met Verve, Christmas mini’s, 20 in total. MC: Wooltops, Bluefaced Leicester/Mulberry Silk))
