Christmas Table Set
Happy Holidays!
Crochet and Christmas! Two of my favorite things come together in this gorgeous set of matched pieces.
This pattern contains directions for a matching 3-piece table setting, including a placemat doily (14”), a matching coaster (4.5”), and a napkin and silverware holder (6x1.5”).
I have deliberately designed this set to be used. All pieces are strong enough to withstand washing, and only need pressing (or ironing) to resume their shape. These lace pieces do not need blocking to sit flat, and do not contain any loose ends or openwork that need to be individually shaped.
The doily and napkin holder are made with a vintage join-as-you-go crochet braid technique. I have included photographs to help, if you have never worked with crochet braid before.
You will need size 10 cotton crochet thread in white, green, and red.
* For each place setting: 140 yds white;
110 yds green; 85 yds red
* For four place settings: 560 yds white; 440 yds
green; 340 yds red
Gauge in pattern: red motifs = 1.5” diameter; 1st four rounds of coaster = 2” diameter
Finished Dimensions of each piece:
- Napkin holder = 6” x 1.75”
- Coaster = 4.5” diameter
- Placemat = 14” diameter
Special stitches used: dc-2-together, dc-2-cluster
This piece coordinates with my Christmas Wreath pattern.
