Christmas Tree Advent Calendar
Crochet this fun Christmas Tree Advent Calendar. A festive project to create the ultimate Christmas countdown, to be used year after year. The tree has 24 pockets, 3 being larger pockets for bonus treats! The finished advent calendar can be stood against a wall, or you can add a hanging loop to be hung up on a wall or door.
This pattern is written using US crochet terms. This is a large 21 page PDF file (29MB), with extensive photographs to help guide you along. The pattern includes step by step guides for making invisible joins and how to use a slip stitch technique for joining the pieces together.
You will also receive a separate 9 page, photo free, printer friendly version.
I have use Stylecraft Special Aran acrylic yarn with a 5mm hook for my tree, and 4mm hook for the number details.
The finished tree measures approximately 22” tall by 20” at the widest point, with a depth of just over 1”. The smaller, baubles and star, round pockets measure 1.5” in diameter and 1” deep. The larger rectangular present pockets measure 3x1.5” and 1” deep.
Gauge isn’t too important, just try to keep your stitches and consistent throughout. Your own gauge will determine the overall finished size.
My tree hexagons measure 3” from 1 flat edge to the opposite.
The smaller bauble pockets fit a single Ferrero Rocher, 2 individually wrapped chocolates, or 4 large chocolate coins. The larger present pockets fit a small 3D shaped chocolate figure, or 2 Ferrero Rochers with room for a few coins.
