This is a knitted pattern for an Advent calendar in the shape of a Christmas tree.

It is knitted in two halves and these halves are sewn or crocheted together with a filling of cardboard and wadding to give depth and strength.

The pockets are knitted separately in a contrasting colour and stitched in place and then you can decorate it as much or as little as you want!

I have designed the pattern to use an Aran weight yarn but I used one strand of Double Knit and one of 4ply in coordinating colours held together to give an effect of leaves on the tree.

If you wanted a bigger tree with bigger pockets simply follow the pattern but use a heavier weight yarn such as chunky
