Christmas Tree Gift Bag
I made these gift bags to be re-usable and pretty. Each tree is approx. 9” tall (without the star). They are quick to make and really fun. They look great under the Tree.
I did not entirely create this pattern; I used patterns on Raverly for inspiration and ideas. And made the gift bags the way I wanted them to be. The two patterns I referenced the most are:
I choose a free star pattern from Ravelry: this one, because I felt it was the cutest,
- Star Ornament (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/star-ornament-3)
But you could choose any star you like.
I heavily used this free tree bag pattern for inspiration (there are so many great patterns on Rav!). This pattern was my favourite, it has a great approach and lots of additional tutorial information, I encourage you to check it out:
- Christmas Tree Drawstring Bag
(http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/christmas-tree-dr...)
You should also riff off my ‘pattern’ and invent your own flavour of gift bag!
I used Estelle Yarns Worsted (wool/acrylic) but you could use any worsted. For smaller bags, you could, of course, use a lighter weight yarn. Per bag:
approx 220 yds or one skein of green
approx. 35 yds of brown
approx. 20 yds yellow for the star
For each gift bag I used approx. 90 metallic pony beads and 15 small jingle bells. I used assorted sizes and colours of bells. You could use any beads or bells, more or less, or even little ornaments. Depends how fancy and price-y you’d like to go!
