Pattern is pretty easy to follow.
I added:

• ornaments (broidery red and purple scrap yarn)
• candles (white and orange scrap yarn)
• crocheted double star for tree topper with sock wool
• silver snowflake buttons (Walmart)

Pattern comes with a pattern for Elfin Socks.
I used circular needles and for the top of the hat I used 4 double-pointed needles.
