Christmas Trees 2
Nine more Christmas trees to add to your miniature forest. They are perfect for making baubles, hanging ornaments, garlands, wreaths and other decorations. They can be left as they are or decorated.
The trees are knit flat and are approximately 10cm (4 inches) tall.
This pattern includes instructions on how to make your trees into a 30cm wreath, if you wish to do so. You will need to knit 14 trees for the wreath.
You will need:
To make the trees alone:
· Cascade 220 yarn, approximately 16m per tree, in Forest Green (8267), White (8505) and Brown (8686). For the robin a small amount of Tan (1208) and Christmas Red (8895).
· 4mm (US 6) knitting needles.
· A tapestry needle.
· Toy stuffing.
· For the robin: a small amount of black embroidery thread and a sharp sewing needle.
· For the cable tree: a cable needle.
· Optional: decorations such as sequins, beads, mini pompoms or mini jingle bells.
To make the wreath in addition:
· A 30cm diameter wreath base.
· Approximately 160m of Cascade 220 in Mineral Blue (8311).
· Glue or double-sided sticky tape suitable for fabric.
Techniques you should know:
· Knit and purl.
· Increases and decreases.
· Sewing seams using mattress stitch.
· Knitting stripes (for the Snow-Layered Tree).
· Intarsia (for the Robin Tree).
