chucks
chucks are the perfect partner for my all stars. originally
inspired by my favorite running socks, they have a clever
lip that will fold and grip the edge of your shoe to keep
your no-shows in place.
this pattern uses german short rows to shape the sock. knitters unfamiliar with this technique should not be scared away from the pattern. these short rows are easy and invisible, and this is a great way to develop this skill.
due to the unique construction of this sock, the pattern is written for an average women’s foot. however, full instructions are given to customize the sock for size as well as to adjust the sock to accommodate a higher arch or a wider or narrower foot.
yarn: numma numma luqma (shown in tandoori) or other fingering-weight sock yarn
finished size: women’s size m (US7-8) if knit according to pattern and at gauge given. size is customizable; see pattern notes in pattern.
yardage: approximately 150 yards as written. if you customize the fit, you may need more or less yarn.
gauge: 32 stitches and 44 rows per 4” in stockinette on US1 (2.25mm) needles
