Chunky Bat
Crochet pattern for the super cute and spooky Chunky Velvet Bat plush toy. Designed by me, this loveable bat can be made in any yarn, following this easy pattern with minimal sewing.
A perfect addition to any Halloween display, baby photo shoot or a Halloween Boo box!
Skill level: advanced beginner. This pattern uses basic stitches and techniques. The body is worked in continuous rounds and the wings are worked in rows. The pattern has written instructions with photos for some of the steps and techniques.
Sizes: yarn dependent. Samples are: grey (aran weight yarn) is 8.5 cm (3.3in) in height and its wingspan measures 16 cm (6.25 in). Black (chunky weight
yarn) is 12.5 cm (5in) in height and its wingspan measures 24 cm (9.5 in).
Hook: hooks 1 and 1.5 sizes smaller than the hook size recommended on the ball band. For example for King Cole Yummy, the ball band recommends 6mm. I used 5mm for the body and 4.5mm for the wings. For Scheepjes Cahlista the ball band recommends 4.5-5mm. I used 4mm for the body and 3.5mm for the wings.
Yarn: Samples shown in Scheepjes Cahlista (grey) and King Cole Yummy (black)
