Chunky Cable Beanie
This was one of my first ever patterns I made, and I had never had a pattern written down, until now! I’m so excited to share this with you guys to make and I love that this sort of style really never goes out of style. It’s my actual go to beanie and soooo warm. It was also my first introduction to cables and really gave me confidence in tackling other skills in knitting.
MEASUREMENTS
This is one size fits all, I’ve tried it on different head sizes 54-58cm / 21-23 inches with no complaints. It is a snug fit.
Lying flat:
20cm / 8 inches across brim
32cm / 12.5 inches from top to brim. (without Pom Pom)
Materials: Super bulky weight yarn, circular or double pointed needles (for the decreases along the top), yarn needle, stitch marker, (optional) Pom Pom maker).
Suggested Yarn:
You can use 1 skein of Malabrigo Rasta, WATG Crazy Sexy Wool or WAK The Wool. There will be enough left over for the Pom Pom.
Techniques: knitting in the round, 1x1 rib, cabling, decreases.
