Skye is a fun, chunky weight textured and cabled sweater that works up quickly due to the combination of the US 10 6mm needles and the engaging nature of the cable design. It has a modern oversized fit and is worked top down. The sweater features European or Diagonal Shoulders meaning that the shoulder seam sits slightly down the back from the top of your actual shoulders. This gives the sweater a beautiful fit in this area. The slope of the shoulders is created using short rows. The side seams are sewn together with mattress stitch. The neckband is picked up and worked in 1x1 rib. All the ribs are cast off using an Italian Bind-off for a professional finish.

Two samples are shown. The pink sample is knit in Dandelion & Dogwood Chunky Pillow in Lover. The grey sample is knit using two strands of DK yarn held together; Brooklyn Tweed Shelter and Rowan Alpaca Soft DK. Perfect gauge was achieved on both samples on recommended needle size.
