My mother hinted (as mothers do) that she wanted a pair of chunky cream stockings with a cable for her and my dad for Christmas. I opted for a mock cable, giving it a flatter, more refined and less rustic feel. They look great on the hearth, and have a big, fat toe for holding goodies!

This pattern does assume some previous knowledge of sock construction, but should be fairly accessible to most. Requires knowledge of knitting in the round, decreasing, yarning-over (yarn-overing?), and heel flap construction
