Chunky Cowl
Knit on US size 11 (8.0mm) x 24in long round needles.
After having worked up a different cabled cowl (link) using Mandala Watercolors, I wanted to create a combination ribbed-cabled cowl that took advantage of the slouchy nature of this yarn.
DIMENSIONS:
The finished product measures ~12” wide X ~12.5” long when laid flat; it is very stretchy, and tends to be a bit narrower (~11” across) in the middle of the piece. (Approx. 25” circumference at the ends.)
VARIATIONS:
I made this using 12 x 8 sts = 96 sts, but the pattern can be adapted for any multiple of 8 sts, as desired.
For a slightly tighter stitch, smaller needles may be better suited; I have not tried this yet myself.
YARN:
This used almost exactly one skein of Mandala Watercolor yarn - colorway #606 - Almond. The skein I used had a small snag approx. ~5 yds. in from the beginning that I trimmed off. This caused me to use a few yards from the beginning of a second skein purely to finish the casting off; so without any snags in the yarn, this should be very close to a one-skein project.
