This pattern makes a thick, chunky crochet ear flap beanie that is sure to keep your little girl warm this winter. Will also make an adorable photo prop. Pattern includes instructions (with detailed photos) for making an extra large, crochet flower to add on. The pigtail braided tassels add a unique touch to this hat.

There is also an option in the pattern to add in a stripe.

I live in Utah, where the winter gets to be pretty harsh. I make these hats for my own kiddos and they keep them super warm!

Materials Needed
-Two skeins category 4 yarn for main color (I use 1 skein acrylic and 1 skein 100% cotton for a fun texture)
-Two skeins category 4 Yarn for contrast color
-9.0mm Crochet Hook (size N)
-6.5mm Crochet Hook (size K)
-Large plastic crochet needle for sewing the flower onto hat (optional)

Abbreviations
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
hdc: half double crochet
sc: single crochet
st: stitch

Notes
-Each round will be joined with a sl st.
-Do not turn work unless pattern indicates.
-Do not count joining ch 1 as st.
-Stitches will be worked through all loops of hdc.
-This pattern has the option to add in a stripe. It will indicate when to start the stripe if you choose to add one.
