Knit your dog a chunky sweater with this free and easy knitting pattern.
A free version of this pattern can be found on my blog here.
You can also shop the pattern here.
• DESCRIPTION
The dog sweater is easy to make, with beginner knitters in mind.
Using knit and purl stitches, you will create ribbing and it will also introduce you to decreasing and shaping.
This sweater will be super cozy to wear in the cold weather.
Yarn
2 x skeins of super bulky yarn I used Hayfield 100g bonus chunky in shade 0931.
A good substitute would be Lion Brand Hometown USA.
Super bulky/super chunky/14 ply yarn.
Needles
Set of 12.00mm (US 17) 24″circular knitting needles.
Set of 12mm (US 17) straight knitting needles.
• SKILLS
Level – Easy
This is an easy level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, purl stitch, increasing, and decreasing.
• SIZING
The back piece of the sweater measures – length = 28″ / width = 12″
Chest piece – length = 23″ / width = 9″
Sleeves – length = 3.5″ / width = 6″
To adapt to your dog – measure the length and width of the back/chest and adjust the pattern according to their measurements.
