This pattern is in UK Terms and mainly uses Front Post and Back Post crochet for the bulk of the pattern. It creates a lovely chunky texture, and once you are past the first 5 rounds, it’s easy!

The pattern has been updated to include 4 different sizes:

6 - 18months
2 - 5 years
6 - 12 years
Teens - Adult

The finished hat has a really good stretch to it, so the sizes fit a really good age range. I made the same size for all 3 of my kids (aged 5, 10 & 12 at the time).

The yarns I’ve used are just a suggestion, but they work really well with the style of hat, and create a soft, stretchy and comfortable hat.

If worked correctly, you will use just less than a 100g ball of standard DK yarn (apart from the largest size - you will need just a little bit more).
