Chunky Hat on Straight Needles (#1): Seersucker
This hat is so quick and easy to make if you’re a confident knitter. And if you’re less confident, it’s the perfect next step up- you’re still knitting on straight needles, but it’s a slightly more challenging repeated pattern. And if you’re reading this in the festive season, then it would be the perfect last minute Christmas gift!
It’s knitted in seersucker stitch, which gives a beautiful puckered/quilted effect, and which, in my opinion, gives such a pretty detail to a chunky hat. The best thing about this stitch, though, is that all you need to know in order to knit it is how to knit and purl- that’s it! It always amazes me the wide variety of different effects you can get from just using only knitting and purling.
It’s also knitted with a band that folds over. I personally much prefer hats in this style, as they’re far more comfortable and far more warm, because they give that extra layer. They’re just extra cosy!
I hope you love this pattern!
