Different Color Rows
If you want to try using varying colors of yarn for these instructions, you need to always knit two rows together, starting with an even row. For the example in the cover photo, I started using a different yarn in rows 18 & 19 and then 22 & 23 … swapping back to the original yarn in rows 20 & 21 and then 24 & 25.
MATERIALS
Worsted weight, 100% cotton yarn (50-100g) in desired color
(In the USA, for example, Peaches & Creme)
Straight needles, size 7 (4.5 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle / crochet hook to weave in ends
Materials can be swapped as long as gauge is met.
Finished size: Approx. width = 9½ inches (24.1 cm) X height = 8½ inches (21.6 cm)
Gauge: Approx. 16 sts and 22 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm)
