Knitting Pattern for a boxy, cropped sweater with drop shoulders, a comfortable fit and an eye-catching checked pattern all over body and sleeves in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL).

Structure:
The sweater is worked in four parts: front, back, right and left sleeve. All parts are worked in stockinette stitch back and forth in rows in a striped pattern. For front and back part, decreases are worked to shape the shoulder section. For the front part, there are additional increases to shape the round neck. For the sleeves, the cuffs are worked first in 1x1 ribbed pattern. After a few increases, the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch back and forth in rows and in a striped pattern too. Then, vertical stripes are crocheted all over body and sleeves to create the checked pattern. In the end, all parts are wet blocked and sewn together. A collar in 1x1 ribbed pattern is finally attached to the round neck.
The fit of the sweater is very oversized, the length is short or cropped to create a boxy, modern look for the classic checked pattern. The sleeves are straight with a little bit of shaping for the cuffs. The highlight of the design is the checked pattern, which is worked with a crochet hook after working the horizontal stripes during the knitting process.

Knitting Tension:
10x10 cm = 11 sts x 18 rs in stockinette stitch with 2 strands of yarn held together on 6 mm knitting needles (wet blocked)
