A modern update for a 1940s-style scarf (which were usually knit in 2-ply weight wool).
:: The instructions are for a chunky weight wool that uses 6.5mm needles with additional notes about how to adjust the pattern to suit a lighter-weight chunky wool that uses 6mm needles.
MATERIALS
1 100g ball of Istex Alafosslopi Chunky wool (pictured in ‘Olive’) or other chunky wool ::
A pair of 6.5mm needles and an additional 6mm or 6.5mm needle
A tapestry needle
A stitch holder (optional)
TENSION
14 stitches and 22 rows in garter stitch over 10cm using 6.5mm needles
MEASUREMENTS
16.5 inches around neck, 29.5 inches total length including bows, 5 inches in width
