Yarn: Approximately 100 grams bulky weight yarn
(Sample hat done in Estelle Chunky. 100 grams should be plenty for the hat and a pom pom.)

6 mm (10US) 16” (40 cm) circular needle for Body,
6 mm (10US) Double Pointed Needles for decreases

Cable Needle, Stitch Markers (5 total), Darning Needle

Gauge: Approximately 16 stitches and 20 rows in stockinette stitch = 4”x 4” square. (If you are a tight knitter, you could go up to 5.5 & 6.5 mm. If you are a looser knitter, you could go down to 4.5 & 5.5 mm.)

Sizing Notes:

If you want a deeper or slouchier hat, there are 2 ways to
do this.
1. Go up a needle size for the body of the hat to 6.5 mm
needles.
2. You can add repeats of 4 rows before doing the final
Row 1. Example: 28 rows + 1 = 29 rows.
