Chunky Sleeve Shrug
Bolero, shrug, whatever you call it, it’s SO GOOD! Chunky, squishy and super stylish.
This is another simple, go-to pattern I wanted to share with you because it’s so easy to create, and the results are anything but basic!
It works up lightning fast with a ginormous 20 mm crochet hook and a bulky #6 yarn, so you’ll be wearing this shrug in no time!
I purposely kept the sleeves long and wide for a bohemian flair, and added a simple neckband with a crab stitch edging to complete the look.
Gauge: 4 sts across x 3 rows = 4”
Approximate Measurements flat, unblocked.
Neckband to cuff 28” (71 cm). Neck opening 15” (38 cm). Neck drop 4” (10 cm). Sleeve width at widest point 10” (25 cm)
One Adult Size: By crocheting just the sleeves and a neckband without a back or front allows this shrug to fit a variety of body sizes, and you can further customize the fit by making the sleeves shorter or longer. If you have large upper arms or are blessed with a large chest, only seam the sleeves up to the elbow. For smaller arms, sew further up the arm.
You can really customize this pattern by adding more rounds for a turtleneck, or trying a few decrease rounds at the cuffs for bracelet sleeves… we all need options! t’s super easy to customize and notes are give on how to do so.
