General Information: The pattern instructions call for using three strands of worsted-weight yarn. Please note that the pattern author uses a Q hook that is 15.75mm.

Size Information: Adult size - 22” circumference (stretches to 24”), length 9 1/2”. Child size - 19” circumference (stretches to 21”), length 8 1/2”.

This time I used a triple strand of worsted weight yarn and my trusty Q hook to produce a chunky bucket hat that is a cold weather hero. Hat has the perfect combination of good looks, comfort and durability. Hat is one piece construction and all around brim can be flipped up for a completely different look. Hat is long enough to cover ears and brim keeps nasty weather at bay. Hat will fit an AVERAGE SIZE adult or teen head. As noted above, pattern now includes child size 2-4 years. Pattern can be completed in 2 hours or less. We’re talking only 17 spiral rounds (no pesky slip stitches).
