This pattern is such a joy!! It is made out of a (6) weight yarn, or you can hold two strands of medium worsted weight. This hat is super fast to make. My patterns are easy to read, and I have added measurements so that you are able to achieve the fit that you would like, as some of my testers could achieve gauge in width, but not height, and the instructions along with the measurements can help you achieve your fit.
