Love ‘em or hate ‘em? This beginner crochet pattern provides instructions for your own handheld pet cicada. Much cuddlier, cuter, and quieter than the real thing. This is as close as I plan on getting to them this year :)

This project can be completed in 1-2 hours, depending on your experience level.

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS:
Hook: 4 mm, US - G/6
Medium size 4 yarn (small amount, <10 yds each)
-Nymph: tan/brown
-Adult: black, white, and orange
Sewing Needle
Scissors
Small amount of polyfill
Item for red eyes: Toho beads pictured, but you may use yarn, sequins, small pompoms, etc.
Optional: crafting glue (e.g. tacky or hot)
