Cicer Wrap
Cicer is perfectly suited for the transitions between cool and warm seasons. Eyelet panels give lightness, while rows of garter stitch and bobbles provide robust visual and tactile texture. These classic design elements come together to form a piece large enough to be worn wrapped twice for dense warmth, or draped loosely to just cover the shoulders.
Final measurements are 16 inches (41cm) wide by 80 inches (203cm) long, unblocked.
For a wrap this size, you’ll need about 1056 yards of worsted weight yarn. The sample shown in the photos used Cascade Yarns Cascade 220, 100% Peruvian Highland Wool, but you could substitute any worsted weight.
Possible variations are endless but may affect drape or fabric characteristics: hold two strands of fingering weight yarn together throughout; use leftover yarn to create color blocks; or use cotton or other fiber blends for a lighter weight piece.
If using Cascade 220, you’ll need 5 skeins (220yd/50g skein), and end up with some left over.
