Brighten up those dreary winter days with these bright patterned mitts inspired by the beautiful Mexican folk art sculptures, alebrijes.
This pattern is written for 5 colors, with some using as little as 3 grams of yarn, perfect for using up those gorgeous bits of left over yarn.
Materials:
44g approx. of Fingering weight yarn.
- MC: 20g
- C2: 12g
- C3: 3g
- C4: 6g
- C5: 3g
US2 (2.75mm) Circular/DPN knitting needles
Darning needle
Waste yarn
Stitch markers
Gauge:
Women’s M: 32 stitches / 40 rows = 4x4in (10cm) swatch over colorwork, before blocking.
Men’s M: 28 stitches / 30 rows = 4x4in (10cm) swatch over colorwork, before blocking.
Measurements:
Women’s medium
- Palm circumference: 7.5in (19.05cm)
- Wrist circumference: 5.5in (14cm)
- Length: 8.25in (21cm)
Men’s medium
- Palm circumference: 8in (20.32cm)
- Wrist circumference: 6in (15.24cm)
- Length: 9in (22.86cm)
Sample is knit using Hawari Bazaar Nova sock minis, in the Cielo colorway.
