Cinderella Shawlette
The Cinderella Crescent Shaped Lace Shawlette is a chance to be the belle of the grown-up ball, prom, or wedding! I chose a Cascade Ultra Pima Fine Yarn that is sport weight, and the shade of Cinderella’s ball gown in the color of “Alaska Sky” (3 skeins of 136 yards each) but you can choose your own shade and yarn weight since gauge isn’t crucial in this pattern. It has a long “wingspan” of over 6 feet…plenty of room to wrap around your shoulders or neck as either a shawl or a scarf. This shawlette is about a foot wide at its widest point. It is edged in a beautiful lace pattern comprised of what appear to be skirts of Cinderella’s gown puctuated by lady-like fans. In the pima cotton, it is breathable, lightweight, and also machine washable (delicate cycle, separately, re-pin to shape flat to dry). It is knit from the bottom up, starting with the lace border, and then short rows make up the body of the shawlette in garter stitch and give it its easy-to-wear crescent shape. I have added tiny iridescent seed beads to the top 3 rows of the shawl before casting off that catch the light for a magical, “fairytale” sparkle. Quick to knit up, and even more fun to accessorize with!
