Cinna Socks
Design Notes: Of all the Hunger Games characters, Cinna is one of the most memorable, noble, and oddly enough, manly. I wanted a sock to reflect his flair for fashion as well as his love for timeless classics. A knit argyle made of textures seemed just subtle and bold enough for this traditional man. But since he also has a flair for the dramatic, why not have an option that uses a second color, something bold and spicy!
General Notes: There are four sizes, XS, S, M, L with cast on counts of 56, 64, 72, 80 to allow for a wide range of sizes across two gauges of yarn. This pattern also includes instructions to add small, 1” gussets on either side of the leg, to accommodate those with smaller feet and ankles, but larger calves. Daintier fingering weight socks should use the three larger sizes, beefier sport weight socks should use the three smaller sizes. You may want to test the fit early on to make sure you are knitting the correct chart.
Each size includes a unique chart for the front leg, back leg, instep, and heel. Right and left socks are identical. Instructions are written for a basic 1 color sock with modifications for a 2 color sock. The charts are illustrated for a 2 color sock on the back of leg, heel, and instep charts. Simply ignore the color designation for the one color version of the sock.
I recommend knitting the leg of the socks using circular needles rather than DPNs to keep from creating ladders in the center of the sock. This sock would be a great candidate for knitting 2 at a time as both socks are identical with a start position that doesn’t change.
Gauge information for both fingering and sport weight versions have been included in the final pattern.
